Dr. Simanta Kalita is a seasoned sustainable development professional with over two decades of experience in leading institutions and managing high-impact projects across climate-smart livelihoods, enterprise incubation, environmental conservation, safety, water-sanitation and sustainable tourism. Currently the CEO of AIC-SELCO Foundation, he has successfully partnered with national and international agencies including the World Bank, AFD, JICA, UNDP, UNICEF, AIM-NITI Aayog, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Govt of India. A respected thought leader and guest faculty at premier institutions like IIT Guwahati, IIM Shillong, and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Dr. Kalita has also earned accolades such as the NITI Aayog's National Social Innovation Award, and GEF-UNDP's Certificate of Excellence. He holds a PhD from Gauhati University, an Executive Certificate on Management from IIM Ahmedabad, a Certificate on Institution Building from IRMA and a Global Leadership Certificate from Johns Hopkins University, USA. Dr. Kalita is also a Certified ESG Professional from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Ministry of Corporate Affairs and brings extensive expertise in institution building, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and social innovation.
